1957: House movings, visitors, and vacations

Faith by Mrs. Thekla Ehnes
– Frank and Alex Fiitterer have recently purchased a new hard top Pontiac.
– Colette Mitzel and Debbie Ehnes had their tonsils removed in St. Michael’s Hospital in Lethbridge on Monday.
– Summer catechism school has commenced at the Faith Catholic Church and two Sisters from the Canmore district are in charge. First Communion celebrations will be held on Sunday, and followed by a Church Picnic at Writing-on-Stone.

– Dean Dragland of Lethbridge has been visiting with his grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dragland this last week.
– Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Corraini were Mr. and Mrs. P. Corraini and Gary of Nanaimo, B.C. and the Misses Christine Corraini of Calgary, Anne of Lethbridge and Doreen who will be nursing at Santa Barbara, Calif, following her holidays.
Bow Island
– Mr. and Mrs. Ren Davies are planning to move their home from Hillspring to their farm north of town in the near future.
– Mr. and Mrs. Maurice DeVloo and family are holidaying in Calgary and spent some time at the Calgary Stampede.
– Mr. and Mrs. Joe Zacher were visitors at the Calgary Stampede and went to Pine Lake where they enjoyed a lovely holiday of fishing and boating.
– Mr. and Mrs. Dean McKnight who have moved to Bow Island from Taber are moving a house out to their farm south of town.
– Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Annon and son of Lethbridge were weekend visitors at the home of Mrs. V. Annon.
– Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Tofin and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cooper holidayed in Calgary for the Stampede.
-Mrs. Ernie Allen, Mrs. Dolly Ashton and her two boys left Monday for a holiday in Sacramento, Calif. Mr. Allen drove them to Shelby and they continued on their journey by train.
– Mrs. Gladys Hyland will be in charge at the town office while Mr. Noble has his holidays.
– Pam and Duncan Lloyd of Coaldale and Richard Lloyd of Grassy Lake are holidaying here with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M.F.R. Lloyd.
– Mr. and Mrs. A. Adair and Charlie were Medicine Hat visitors on Monday and called in to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Westergreen at Whitla on their way home.
– The new office and bulk plant of Sturdie Propane, situated on the highway west of the new Massey Harris Building and yards, is going up rapidly and should be completed within the next month.
