Winnifred News by Mrs. Bertha Annon
– The men of the community have been doing some volunteer work at the Community Hall this week, putting on some stone-type siding. Friday was a nice mild calm day and they were able to complete the whole west side of the building.
– A number of residents, including George Zacher, Johnny Popel and G. Evans have the exterior of their homes decorated for the Christmas season.
Foremost Section by Peggy Hougen
– Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cowie are receiving congratulations on the birth of a baby daughter, born December 14 in St. Michael’s Hospital.
– The fine outstanding spirit of Foremost was distinctly brought to light Sunday evening when a search party was organized by officer Bob Burton and the Foremost Fire Brigade, for a certain missing boy, who it was thought had met with an accident. The men and boys of the whole town turned out ‘en masse’ in a bitter wind with cars and search lights. They searched the coulees and ravines surrounding the town. It is at times like that we remember the old saying “Friends and neighbours are worth more than diamonds and gold” and ‘Slim and Gladys’ wish to convey their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to one and all who gave of their services. The boy was found safe and sound.

– Hugh Adams was very close to winning a car at the Bingo Game in Lethbridge Saturday night, he along with five others “bingoed” but unfortunately Hugh lost out and won a radio as a consolation prize.
– Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Johnson were guests of honor at a party to celebrate their twenty fifth Wedding Anniversary. The family and friends gathered together at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Thorson. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were presented with a chest of silver to mark the occasion.
