A year of ups and downs, but always goals

The year of 2014 definitely had its ups and downs. The ups being getting my first car, my first job, my first house and finding the love of my life, and the downs being moving far away from my family, being pretty much broke after driving across Canada and experiencing the freezing Alberta winter. I’ve got to say, 2014 was probably one of the best years of my life though, but also one of the hardest as I had to say goodbye to one chapter of my life and go onto the next. All I know is that this year, I’m going to make it even better!
As for those New Year’s resolutions, I’ve failed on two. Going on a diet and hitting the gym hard hasn’t worked out quite yet. Does pizza count? The reason I like New Year’s resolutions is because I like to set goals for myself at the beginning of a whole new year. I think it’s awesome to start fresh and look toward the next full year, because so much can happen in a year, which is pretty exciting. One of the big changes I have made and stuck with is keeping my house extremely clean. Even though we have no dishwasher, there are no excuses!
This year, it’s about giving it my all and doing the best job I can at everything I do, like my relationships with others, getting to the gym and of course, working hard at my career. So basically, improving on everything I do. As each year comes and goes, I will continue to set goals and be challenged, as that is what really gets me motivated.
I don’t want to change myself, just build upon new experiences and do what I continue to do… be happy. It sounds simple, but to me that’s one of the most important things in life today. Being happy with what you do and how you do it is something a lot of people live for. After all, it is the simple things in life that can be the most magnificent.
I’m happy to say that with all the ups and downs, I’ve managed to continue being my happy self and I have been so thankful to meet new people and learn in their experiences along the way. I love my life and how it is going and wish to keep it that way.
This year will not be a new me, it will be a new year with new improvements and lifelong goals.
