Sometimes saying good-bye is pretty darn easy

It is always hard saying good-bye to an old friend. When you grow dear to someone or something, cutting ties can be a difficult thing to do. Emotions are involved, after all.
It is a lot easier to part ways when there is not a particular fondness for the other party, whether it be a casual acquaintance or a favourite pair of comfortable shoes.
Now, if I had to say good-bye to my Red Sox, I would be kicking and screaming for days; not that I can see something so horrendous ever happening.
Restaurants, on the other hand, are much different, and I am much more fickle. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact, there are plenty more to choose from. I, for one, have no hankering for an establishment that has inflated prices given how much food is being served.
So, it is a pretty easy decision for me to make when a certain restaurant chain chooses to change it’s policy and snub our Alberta beef industry. In fact, I don’t even have to give it a second thought.
I have no desire to visit this establishment ever again. I can go right across the street and get a better meal at the competition.
Sometimes, saying good-bye is quite easy and sure, there are emotions involved; not the same fond emotions as I have with my favourite old shoes, though. The emotions with this decision run much deeper and the decision made more solid.
There is no turning back now.
Good-bye Earls! I and many Albertans bid you adieu. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out of the province.
