By Jamie Rieger
It has been just over six years since I packed my bags and moved to Bow Island from Medicine Hat, a time I have thoroughly enjoyed. I have met some wonderful people, covered some great events, including the Centennials in Bow Island, Burdett, Foremost, Manyberries, and Orion.
There have been rodeos and celebrations, graduations and tournaments. There is always something going on to cover and it has made my job pretty easy.
Anybody who knows me knows I love to be challenged, so when I received an offer to take on the position of assistant managing editor at the Prairie Post, I accepted wholeheartedly.
So, this will be my last column for the Commentator, but will still be here until Nov. 1. I start my new job the next day, so I don’t have much time for a breather.
Also, some of you may still see me around time for a few weeks as I find a new place to live and prepare to move back to the Hat.
I have enjoyed my time in Bow Island, but the time has come for me to be closer to my family and spend some much-needed time with them.
I am excited for my latest adventure, but will miss the busy little hub of Bow Island and all the good people of the County of Forty Mile. You all have been wonderful to work with.
And, you never know. Our paths may cross once again as I take on my new role with the Prairie Post.
So, I say my goodbyes to my readers and wish you all the very best in your own adventures.
