The American election campaign has certainly been an entertaining one thus far, particularly on the Republican side.
Watching on TV, at least one of the candidates is sure to get in a good dig or two, providing fodder for an evening of laughter, it’s much better than listening to which one has the best spin on a particular issue.
Now, I find the American election process fascinating to watch, even if the campaigning drags on for two years.
First, I often hear on the American news how polarizing things are and what can be done to fix it. Well, this is just my humble opinion of course, but having a two-party system may be part of the reason. How can things not be polarized when their is no middle-of-the-road alternative.
Now, I watched the Democratic debate on the weekend, and I must say, I do like Bernie. He has grit and he has gumption. Hillary, on the other hand has the personality of a stick of chalk. Again, just my opinion!
Now, when the Republicans start debating (if one could call it that), I am sitting there laughing at their digs at each other. Donald Trump flings the most mud, but Ted Cruz has the best zingers. Examples:
“Two Corinthians walk into a bar…” (Anybody paying attention to the debacle will get it.)
“I’m going to build a wall and get Donald Trump to pay for it.”
That would be what our young people would call a burn!
Trump is settling down and actually starting to talk politics, Cruz is cruising along, and Rubio is barely in it anymore.
Watching all this nonsense isn’t everybody’s cup of tea, but it is keeping this girl entertained until MLB regular season kicks off.
