Another holiday has come and gone

Another holiday has come and gone. People everywhere are wondering what to do with all the leftovers and recovering from a bit too much turkey, pies, and chocolate.

The weather proved to be fairly nice for traveling for most (except maybe for those who were traveling from Edmonton on Friday). And, excluding the wind at time, it was an overall pretty great weekend.

I don’t get to see some of my family very often, so when we can get together it is always a good visit. This Easter, some who usually are there, could not make it, but a niece who hasn’t been home since last September was able to make it this time.

The weekend was also not one that involved too much rest and relaxation for this old girl. Some work stuff needed to be done, some babysitting of Paige which was done very eagerly, of course, and lots of running around.

The weekend flew by far too fast and I wish I had more time to spend with everybody. I thoroughly enjoy the catching up with them and normally, the game-playing, too. This time, other than a few hands of rummy, there were no games played at all. The Scrabble game did not even make it out of the closet.

And, that’s alright, too. The games are always fun and bring lots of laugh, but it is sometimes just as nice to sit and visit.

Paige was being a little bashful being around a bunch of big people, so her best friend on Easter Sunday was my brother’s dog, Sam. Her giggles were evidence enough that she was having a good time. And judging by the tail-wagging and floppy-ear to floppy-ear grin, Sam was enjoying it as much as Paige.

Anyway, I have lots of leftovers stacked up in my fridge, so tonight I won’t have to worry about cooking…and probably won’t have to tomorrow night, either.
