As many of you know, the last few months have been a bit hectic for me. I tried my best to cover Cypress County, County of Forty Mile, Bow Island, and Redcliff. With the help of colleagues from other publications and the patience of my readers, I think we were all able to get it done.
I would like to take my column space this week to thank everybody who assisted in making the past few months since the beginning of March (through some of the busiest months of the year), go a lot more smoothly than it certainly could have.
To the municipalities, organizations, and individuals who submitted stories and photos (often without being asked!) when they knew I could not make it to an event, I send out a huge, heart-felt thank-you! Your help is appreciated more than I can ever express in a few words here. And, thank you so much in your patience as we worked through it all together.
To my colleagues at other publications, I have to thank you for sharing stories and photos. Your help really means a lot to me and it allowed me to take a few deep breaths along the way.
And of course to the staff at the Taber Times, who without their help, doing layout would have been an overwhelming task. Yet, every week, even the short ones with deadlines moved up, the paper got laid out and the presses ran and I could have a peaceful night sleep knowing that the paper was going to be delivered the following morning.
In last week’s column, you had the opportunity to meet our new Cypress County and Redcliff reporter, Carlie Connolly, who is learning the current issues involved in her new position and is also learning the area as she is new to southeast Alberta.
I encourage her readers to send her an email at email@example.com or give her a call at 403-527-1101 ext. 2128 to welcome her to Alberta and to her new position. Also, if you have a story idea, Carlie would welcome the call.
Carlie is already doing a fantastic job of diving into the news of her area and will be a great asset in helping with lay-out.
Again, a big shout-out to everybody for all their help, which did not go unnoticed and was appreciated so very much!
