Getting back to my creative side

Only a toddler can transform one’s home into a cave, a museum, a park, and a castle, and do it all in the same morning.
The imagination of a three-year old is something that really should be admired by each of us. Not only can they do all of these transformations, but they can tell a story to go with it and pretty much all they need for props is a flashlight and a blanket.
I had the pleasure of having my three-year old granddaughter entertain me for a couple of days and saw creativity and imagination at its finest during her visit.
I was worried at first that I would not have enough fun stuff for her to do, especially when the weather turned windy and cool. That did not matter to her one bit as she found lots of activities to keep us occupied.
There was no complaining or whining; just a shift from one activity to another at her own choosing. Grandma was pretty okay with doing that, too.
I wish I had more time to sit and be creative like a three-year old can. I have a couple writing projects that have been sitting collecting dust and really do need some attention. Unfortunately, life gets in the way and these projects get put on the back-burner and left to simmer.
One of these days, I will have to dust them off and spend some time working on at least one of the two.
If my granddaughter taught me anything this weekend, and she actually taught me a lot, it is to not ignore the creative side of the brain. It seems like if you do, then the rest of thought-processing will go stagnant.
All one needs is a flashlight, a blanket, and an imaginative three-year old to really put things into perspective.
