Burdett News by Mrs. Donald Warren
– Mr. and Mrs. Herb Rode are receiving congratulations on the birth of a son in the Medicine Hat Hospital.
– Mr. and Mrs. Philip Van Oostenbrugge are receiving congratulations on the birth of a daughter in the Taber Hospital.
– Miss Gail Thacker left for Calgary last week where she will enter the Holy Cross Hospital to begin training as a Lab Technician.
Winnifred News by Mrs. Bertha Annon
– Case Maarion received a shipment of 450 chicks this week.
– It is reported that Jack Prunkle of Bow Island was the successful bidder for the farm of the late Harry Oliyneck.
Conquervville News by Lila Corraini
– Three new arrivals of interest to the Conquerville district are: a baby girl, Sharon Diane, born to Mr. and Mrs. R. Geddes, at the Medicine Hat Hospital; a baby boy born to Mr. and Mrs. Tony Roth named Gerald Anthony; a baby girl born at Medicine Hat to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Blanchard, who now live in the Gas City. Congratulations to all the proud parents.
Bow Island
– Mr. and Mrs. Jud Couillard, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Simpson attended the Fish and Game Association meeting in Taber recently. In speaking to Mr. Heustes, it was learned the 40 Mile Lake may be stocked with either Perch or Walleye.
– Darrell Annon has moved to the Medicine Hat Hospital from Edmonton and is expected to be with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Annon in the near future.

– A serious accident occurred just one mile south of town on Wednesday, when Harry Hobbs ran into two saddle horses belonging to Paul Fetter. The horses of very good breeding had to be shot, while Hobbs car was extensively damaged, Mr. Hobbs was not injured.
– Approximately twenty five local citizens attended the Board of Trade meeting held in the Community Hall on Thursday. A substantial sum of money will be spent this year on equipment for the children’s playground. Slides, swings, sand boxes and a tennis court will be added to give all ages recreation.
Foremost News
– Mr. and Mrs. K. Proud and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rarick are the proud parents of baby girls, both born at the Taber Hospital within the same hour.
– Art Frankish has returned from a four month stay in the U.S. Leaving Foremost on the 4th of November he spent three weeks in Las Vegas and also visited friends at Amarillo, Texas. Here he met his family who had flown down for Christmas. Mr. Frankish visited at Corpus Christie on the Gulf but spent most of his time at Edinburgh and McAllen where he has an orange orchard.
Many people from Foremost and district attended the wedding dance of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mueller (nee Elaine Traxler) held last Friday in Nemiscam.
