Like a kid in a candy shop meeting Linden

Well considering I was less than 100 per cent all weekend, I thought it was going to be a  few days of recovering from sick bay and not too much excitement. I was hoping to get a glimpse of Rogers Hometown Hockey in downtown Medicine Hat if this darn cold would go away. The energy levels built up enough to attend the festivities on a rather chilly Sunday afternoon in hopes of meeting my childhood hockey idol, Trevor Linden. It had been a dream of mine since a young age to meet him and it just seemed like this day was going to be it even if there wasn’t much hype around the possibility of Linden being in town. However my luck was going on the right path with my #16 jersey starting off the broadcast . The suspense grew as Linden was doing  on-air interviews with Hometown Hockey hosts Ron MacLean and Tara Slone during the Vancouver Canucks vs. Anaheim Ducks broadcast and as  the intermission creeped closer, it became a possibility. Then my moment of fame came as Mr. Linden agreed to come out for an autograph session. It was like a ‘kid in a candy shop moment’ because it might be the first and last chance to see him for a long time and my excitement went through the roof as soon as the ink touched my jersey and just a surreal experience to meet a player I grew up idolizing. My weekend was recovered.
