– What Happened At Council Meeting – Mayor Bonette and Councillors Malo, Couillard, Evans, Peterson, Caswell and Jones were present for the November 10 meeting of the Town Council. Claude Bishop attended the meeting and asked permission to place brick veneer on the front of his store, which would mean coming out 4 inches on town property. It was moved by Councillor Evans that permission be granted provided a letter is received from Mr. Bishop releasing the Town from all responsibility that may occur in the future. Carried. (PS – if you look at the front of the Bow Island Hardware – the brick veneer is still in place). It was also moved that Councillor Couillard be the Town representative to the Bow Island Hospital Board and that Councillor Peterson be appointed Town representative to the County for school purposes. Permission was granted to Charles Martin of Taber to operate an Electric and Furniture Store in town. After a discussion of land prices it was moved by Councillor Peterson that all Town owned corner lots be sold at $5.00 per front foot. Carried. The Secretary was instructed to contact the Health Inspector with regard to having sewers installed in the north half of Block 12, Plan 5800.
– There is a lengthy item regarding Steve Hadnagy and his 4H trip to the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. At the end of the article it stated that Steve left this Thursday for Montana State College to resume his studies.
– Ted Caswell is a patient in the Taber Municipal Hospital having suffered a minor accident Thursday. While unloading a tank trough he slipped and fell spraining the ligaments and chipping a bone of one of his feet. We hope he will soon be well.
