There were two Graphic newspapers printed on this date. One contained the local news- the other was complete coverage of the Grand Opening of our new Hospital.
B.I.-Police Constable Appointed. Pat Malo and Ken Evans of the Police Committee interviewed an applicant for the position of Town Constable on Tuesday and finding that he met the necessary qualifications he was hired. Mr. Farrius, who is married, with no children, is presently living in Innisfree, Alta. He expects to be moved down here and start his duties around March 4th. (Note-I remember Walter pitching for our Combine baseball team).
B.I.-51 Anniversary Celebrated By The Swennumsons. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Swennumson were pleasantly surprised when dear friends from Medicine Hat and Whitla called with a complete turkey dinner in their arms, to extend their congratulations on their fifty-first Wedding Anniversary. These friends were Mr. and Mrs. Macleod, Mrs. Les Rhoades, Mrs. Floyd Ronan and Brian of the Hat and Mr. and Mrs. Verhaest. Mr. and Mrs. Swennumson were married in Parkriver, North Dakota, moving from there to Lethbridge and from there to Bow Island during the following year. They operated a hardware where Jenkins (now Lens Foods) are now located, until 1930 at which time he devoted his time to his farming operations until his retirement several years ago. Mr. Swennumson served twelve years on the Town Council and his wife has been active in the Lutheran W.M.S. serving as President for a term.
BI.-Lorraine Thacker, Pat Brosz, Ora Johnson and Babe Starner each won a box of chocolates at the Medicine Hat Bonspiel banquet las week for being the rink having the most children. They totaled eighteen.

The Municipal Nominations were held Friday in the Community Hall, with a very poor turnout. Only eighteen rate payers, besides Councillors and County officials were present. The result of the nominations throughout the County were as follows: In Division No.1- G.M. Griffith was nominated for two years to complete the three year term of Mr. J. Johnson who has resigned. In Division No. 2, Paul Wesley of Etikom was nominated a 3 year term; In Division No. 4, D.J. Vandenberg, for a 3 year term and from Division 6, J. Voss of Burdett for a 3 year term. All were elected by acclimation.
A rink skipped by Mrs. V. Baker and consisting of Pauline Hougen, Eleaor Bailey and Pat Field took fourth prize in the First Event of a three-day bonspiel in Taber. Their prizes were oak stands on top of which were salt and pepper shakers and a tooth pick holder shaped like curling rocks.
B.I.- There is a full page advertisement in this issue from Jenkins Grocerteria. “We extend a cordial invitation for you to shop in our NEWLY RENOVATED STORE”. Our efficient and courteous staff will be pleased to fill your order, be it a box of matches or the family order for the month. There are pictures of the staff-Roy Loney- Mgr., Earl Carlson (who purchased the store a few years later) and Norma Bateman. Note- If memory serves me correct Jenkins Grocery purchased the Black and White Store from Gus Bonnette, The store later became Earl and Kay’s, and then Len’s Lucky Dollar (Len Kambeitz) and now it is Len’s Foods (Randy Kambeitz).
