Skidsteer purchase

Bow Island town council approved the trade of one skidsteer to another at the July 12 meeting. The trade will see the unit E151 for a Case SV280B from Rocky Mountain Equipment  for $12,900 with funds coming from reserves.

Temporary road closure

A temporary road closure request for Bow Island Building Supplies on July 16 and 17 was approved.

The temporary closure for a portion of North Railway Avenue West allowed the building company time to install roof trusses during the construction of a building on a property and safety throughout the course of the project.

Second Avenue E Project

The Second Avenue E project had a start-up meeting on July 12. The public works crew have removed millings and asphalt. The project in front of St. Michael’s School will involve the replacement of water mains and services, sewer main and services and sidewalk.

Centennial Park Crescent W project

The project is near completion. Placement of millings is now ongoing and sidewalk replacement will occur in the coming weeks.

Transit Paving

The company is in town preparing for projects. The intersection of 10 Street E and First Avenue will be scaled back to an overlay instead of the original milling and overlay for cost reduction. Savings will be used for patching/ pothole repair.
