Bow Island lays out Stage 2 relaunch opening plan

The Town of Bow Island has drawn up a timeline of when facilities will be opened as a part of Alberta’s Stage 2 relaunch that started Friday.
The Multiplex reopened June 15 with a limit of 50 people gathering.
Town office’s meeting room two will be open for public bookings on June 15 with a capacity limit of 12 people.
Meeting room one will be closed to the public until further notice.
The ball diamonds will be open for recreation and league play soon.
“Town staff must prepare the grounds for public use, please watch the website and social media for further information,” said Dave Matz, town chief administrative officer.
The Centennial Park Campground will now have all site open to campers immediately. The camp kitchen and gazebo are now available for rental of up to 100 people at a gathering.
The overflow camping will remain closed until the town completes a plan to reopen those sites.
Additionally, t he showers will remain closed until further notice.
The pool is tentatively scheduled to open July 1.
“It will be a minimum two weeks to get the pool operational,” said Matz.
“The staff has been working on it. They were doing some work on it prior to this announcement being made from the province. But what happens is we have to drain the water out of the pool. They have flush the anti-freeze out of the lines, refill the pool, add chemical and then they have to heat the pool.”
Each of those processes takes two to three days, he added.
There will be change room restrictions that will be in effect as well.
Staff is currently working on a schedule for lane swims, swimming lesion, aquacise and open swims.
Schedules will be posted to social media and the town’s website shortly.
A local pickleball group is wanting play in the arena from July to late September.
The town office has been opened for regular hours since June 1.
