Bow Island town council voted for the municipality to purchase a Scorpion 20 Yard Automated waste collection vehicle from Superior Truck equipment in an amount of $336,802 at their April 12 meeting.
“They (council) did make a motion to a purchase a truck, but it probably will not arrive until next year,” said Dave Matz, Bow Island chief administrative officer.
“We budgeted for it in 2021, but it’ll probably be a 2022 expense.”
Tax Rate Bylaw
Council voted on first reading of the Tax Rate Bylaw, where all the mill rates will remain the same for this year.
The rate is calculated is based on per 1000.
Residential (10.1797), farmland (10.88), non residential (13.3833) and machinery and equipment (12.33680).
The Alberta School Foundation Fund portion will see residential at a rate of 2.7604 and non-residential 3.4616.
Water Maintenance Tax
The Water Maintenance Tax will remain the same at $1.25 per front foot and shall be assessed, levied and collected as part of and together with the municipal taxes of Bow Island.
