Generations of Tomorrow G.O.T. 4-H club has been busy with several different projects with one being a food project.

Members joined at the Seven Persons Hall to learn several different skills on how to complete a turkey dinner. Each leader shared their “tricks of the trade” and how to utilize various machines that could be added to our kitchen other than just using a standard oven.

Our menu consisted of: turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, cooked asparagus, layered salad, homemade fresh buns, jello cheesecake, and whipped coffee. So that we could utilize our time between bread rising and the turkey cooking in a roaster, we learned how to make a quick dill pickle recipe and an Insta pot cheeseburger soup, along with homemade perogies.

Doesn’t that sound as delicious as it was?

We all sat down and enjoyed the turkey dinner along with our friends from the Seven Persons Community Association who graciously provided us with funding for projects like these. As a bonus we each got to take home a sample of everything we had made that day.

Then in the month of May, we had the Thacker’s project where we went to Col Peppers Paintball facility where we were able to play for 2 hours and then had our meeting outside on the deck. This gave members and their families a chance to have some fun while strategically playing paintball. It was such a fun Sunday afternoon to take part in this project.

Other projects that are in the works are members steers getting ready for Show and Sale on June 11, quilts to be demonstrated at the Show and Sale and the Equine project Achievement day on June 8.
