Foremost by-election to be held on May 28

The Village of Foremost is holding a by-election on May 28 at the Foremost Community Hall.

Marilynn Hirsche, the Chief Administrative Officer for the Village of Foremost, said that the by-election is being held because the mayor, Lorne Buis, passed away suddenly on March 3 leaving a vacant Council seat.

“This was an unforeseen situation,” said Hirsche.

Nomination day for by-election candidates, Hirsche says, was April 30.

Hirsche says that two candidates are ultimately running for the vacancy on Council: Kerri Buis and Mel Karl.
