A collaboration among the 40 Mile Community Resource Centre, Verge Economic Development, and the County of 40 Mile and Town of Bow Island’s Chambers of Commerce sees a Community Welcoming Fair coming to the Susan Anderson Library. Taking place during library hours from October 28 to November 1, this event will help connect local residents and businesses with the many services available in the area.
This is an unmanned event that will have information displayed on tables at the library. Businesses, organizations, and agencies are encouraged to submit business cards, leaflets, etc., and the public is encouraged to come and browse. Some of the organizations will also have a method in place to set up meetings for guests that want to learn more.
Here is how to get involved:
Organizations
Join the 20+ parties (businesses, the Government of Alberta, regional economic development organizations, Medicine Hat Local Immigration Partnership, community foundations, and more) that will be displaying information. Drop off your business cards, pamphlets, and promotional materials at any of the following locations, or email thardiker@verge-ed.ca to arrange for item pickup.
• Town of Bow Island/FCSS or Susan Andersen Library – 502 Centre Street
• Foremost FCSS/CRC Office – 218 Main Street
• Bow Island CRC/Chamber – 141 5th Avenue West
• Verge Economic in Medicine Hat – 556 4th Street #202, Medicine Hat
Although the event is unmanned, vendors that want more direct contact with the community can advertise a specific day and time when they be present at the table, or leave direct contact information to set up meetings at a later date.
