Premier Danielle Smith spent thousands of dollars on the front page of the Lethbridge Herald on Tuesday, Oct. 15, just to pick a fight with Prime Minister Trudeau again. This cost the Alberta taxpayers more money than the ad is worth. Blabbing about why Ottawa’s energy production will put a cap and will make groceries more expensive. Smith does not want to admit that all families are benefiting from the Carbon Tax Refund Rebate. Carbon tax also helps climate change for a better and cleaner environment. Furthermore, the Conservative leader, Pierre Poilievre, many times advised the Prime Minister in the House of Commons to “axe the tax.” But realistically, he has not come up with a proper solution to fix the economic problem. The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Francois-Philippe Champagne and other prominent ministers have helped to reduce the prices in the large box stores to benefit the consumers.
We encourage the UCP Caucus at their party’s upcoming leadership convention to determine Premier Smith’s ability as a leader to run the United Conservative Party, as well as to propose a referendum to ask the people in the province of Alberta whether she is fit to rule the province. Recently she has been ruling her government to the extreme right in all aspects of departments including Health, Education, Municipal Affairs, Policing, Environment and many more departments that have been disrupted by her leadership. The people of Alberta should not have to wait until the next election to find a new leader, so Albertans will retain the doctors that are constantly leaving for greener pastures elsewhere.
