Irvine School will be hosting a two-day bottle drive this week to help alleviate some of the financial burdens for one of its students who is battling cancer.
On Oct. 30-31 the school will be hosting the bottle drive and is asking residents to donate recyclable bottles and cans at the school or at Shamrock Bottle Depot in Medicine Hat under “Irvine School.”
“One of our school’s families is currently facing a challenging time, as a student and their family are bravely battling cancer,” reads an online post by the school. “These donations will go a long way in helping provide some relief for the family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters – the health and well-being of their child.”
A Shamrock bottle truck will be on site at the school on Oct. 30 at 4 p.m. and will be picked up the following day.
The account ‘Irvine School’ has been established at Shamrock Bottle Depot and will remain open indefinitely for donations.
“We thank you in advance for your support in ensuring that this student and family, like all our Irvine students and families, are shown the love and support needed at this time.”
