The Redcliff Youth Centre is gearing up to host their first youth retreat at the historic Reesor Ranch, giving attendees the tools to build mental and emotional resilience.
The inaugural Pathways to Resilience Youth Wellness and Resilience Retreat will be a two-night, three-day experience on Aug. 12-14, created by the youth centre staff to provide young people with opportunities to build confidence, develop healthy coping strategies and foster meaningful connections in a supportive environment.
These are the fruits of extended collaboration with Historic Reesor Ranch, Medicine Hat Family Service and Our Collective Journey, the youth centre said in a release.
“Throughout the retreat, participants will experience kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, ziplining, horseback riding, astronomy and nature-based learning, alongside resiliency programming and age-appropriate conversations surrounding mental wellness and suicide prevention,” said Redcliff Youth Centre.
“Every activity has been intentionally planned to encourage youth to step outside their comfort zones, recognize their strengths, and develop practical skills they can carry with them long after the retreat has ended.”
This programming is being offered completely free of charge, including transportation, accommodations, meals, activities and programming to ensure financial barriers do not prevent any youth from this opportunity.
