Gear Up for another year on the ice

Commentator/Courier

Rural hockey players are encouraged to bring down their old gear and find new pieces of equipment for the upcoming season during the seventh annual Lions Club of Medicine Hat’s Gear Up program later this month.
The Lions Club of Medicine Hat is running the equipment recycling program for gently used or outgrown sports equipment for kids ages six to 16.
All the equipment will be donated and at no cost to those players that need gear.
Equipment for hockey can include elbow pads, gloves, goalie equipment, hockey bags, helmets (with cages and CSA approved), pants, shoulder pad, shin guards, skates and sticks.
Girdles and neck guards can be combined in with the hockey equipment above for ringette players.
Donated gear can be dropped off at the Hockey Hounds Arena from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 24 and 25.
Equipment can be available for pick-up on Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. 4 p.m.
