Medicine Hat Police have confirmed one man died as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Gershaw Drive (Highway 3) yesterday afternoon.
According to a statement issued late last night, the collision occurred when a 35-year old man, driving a white International truck pulling a loaded flat deck trailer and traveling northbound in the 3300 block of Gershaw Drive SW swerved to avoid stopped northbound traffic.
The truck then collided head-on with a southbound white Nissan truck driven by a 44-year old male.
The 44-year old male was pronounced dead on scene. The 35-year old male was transported to hospital with minor injuries, treated, and released. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision, which is still under investigation.
Highway 3 reopened at approximately 12:30 a.m.
