Two Redcliff children struck by vehicle when crossing street

Two children were struck by a car in Redcliff on Thursday morning as they were attempting to cross the street at an unmarked crosswalk.
According to a statement issued by the Redcliff RCMP, who responded to the scene at approximately 8:30 a.m., an eastbound Chevrolet Cobalt stuck two nine-year old children who were crossing the street at 3rd Street and 6th Ave. SE.  Members of the public immediately stepped in to provide aid.
One child suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, while the other was examined is not believed to have sustained any injuries.
All of the individuals involved are residents of Redcliff.
The RCMP reminds motorists to always observe a 360-degree arc around their vehicle, to anticipate potential traffic issues ahead, and for pedestrians to ensure that it is safe to cross a road by making eye contact with the driver before proceeding onto the road.
RCMP are continuing their investigation and no charges had been made at the time of press release.
