Fire ban in place for the County of Forty Mile, effective immediately

Effective immediately, a fire ban restricting all open fires has been put in place due to the extreme fire hazard in the County of Forty Mile.
The fire ban includes all areas of the County of Forty Mile No. 8, including Golden Sheaf Park and Forty Mile Park.
Not permitted under fire ban are:
-Incinerators
-Burning barrels
-Solid fuel barbeques (charcoal briquettes)
-Wood camp fires
-Turkey fryers
-Fireworks and exploding targets
Permitted:
-Gas or propane stoves/barbeques and portable propane fire pits
Fire permits will not be issued while the fire ban is in place.
County of Forty Mile council voted in favour of putting the fire ban in place immediately at their July 26 meeting.
