On October 10th, the Town of Bow Island held the first of their bi-monthly public council meetings.
The M.D. of Taber, as managing partner of the Highway 3 Regional Water Commission and
Vauxhall Regional Water Commission, submitted a request that the Town of Bow Island take the lead in applying for an ACP grant.
The purpose of the grant would be to complete a Regional Water Treatment Plant Infrastructure Assessment on both the Bow Island and Vauxhall Water Treatment Plants. The grant would be for $200,000, with no matching required on the part of the Town.
This would allow them to engage MPE Engineering in various tasks, and should the application be successful, Bow Island will be the managing partner on the project.
The motion to apply for the grant was passed.
A motion was also passed to approve the Shortgrass Library 2024 Municipal Levy, which is set at $4.97 per capita. This is largely consistent with previous years, and it was noted that Council appreciated the information provided for the decision.
The Bow Island organizational meeting will be held on October 23, at 6:30 pm in the Hyland Room.
