December 3 gathered Bow Island and area into a brisk winter night for a surprising spot of snow and a much greater flurry of holiday cheer.

The event began with a holiday parade, with businesses, emergency services, and citizens alike decking their vehicles and floats in bright lights and making their way throughout the town, all the way from Senator Gershaw School to down in Funshine Park.

Visitors and residents alike gathered beneath the tree, joining CAO Dave Matz and Mayor Gordon Reynolds for some holiday carols and the lighting of the town’s Christmas Tree, before making their way to the Multiplex for continued activity.

From inflatable Dino Bowling for kids, a Christmas craft center, and opportunities to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, the Multiplex was full at the well-attended holiday event.

From people taking part in the festivities, getting a cup of hot chocolate before heading out to stand by the fire pit in the park, or simply taking the opportunity to socialize with their neighbours, this year’s Holiday of lights was a resounding success.
