On Feb. 10 shortly after 8 a.m., Brooks RCMP received a report of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.

Police say a parent and their child attempted to cross the road by stepping out between two parked vehicles, preventing the driver from making a full stop, however the driver was able to nearly stop their vehicle, and no injuries were reported.

RCMP say the parent and child attempted to cross the road at a non-designated crossing.

High-speed collision

On Friday, Feb. 7 RCMP in Brooks issued speeding tickets to a driver who was involved in a collision at the intersection of Greenbrook and Sutherland Drive.

Officers determined the vehicle was making a right turn and lost control, sideswiping another vehicle before becoming wedged under a mailbox.

High speed was determined to be a factor and police ticketed the driver at the scene.

Traffic-stop arrest

On Feb. 9 after 3 a.m. Brooks RCMP conducted a routine traffic stop that led to the arrest of a male driver identified as being in breach of curfew.

An officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with a burned-out light, and the driver was arrested for failure to comply.
