Make the holiday season a positive experience this year

The Holiday Season is around the corner and hopefully the 2021 version can be enjoyed a little more.

After enduring two tough years with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it is hopefully time for us as a society to interact with family and friends again and maybe even enjoy some laughter, fun good cheer over a cup of hot cocoa or eggnog — the way it was pre-COVID for most families.

While listening to the Christmas music, perhaps that will get people in the festive mood and be more kind to one another.

Society has become more divided than ever in the last 20 months and with the Holiday Season coming, what better time than to show random act of kindness?

It can be as simple as paying it forward with buying someone’s coffee at the drive-thru, saying hello and having a positive conversation with an individual who may be having a rough day, admiring a Christmas display at the mall, whatever it may be — try to make the season a positive experience for everyone after a lot of negativity that has hovered over our lives for a long time.

Maybe the Festive Season can be a time for you.

What I mean by that is do some winter or Holiday activities that make you feel good inside and make on realize there is still some good within these gloomy times we’ve endured.

This will no doubt help to bring back to the forefront feelings of joy and happiness, which is exactly what people need to gain back.

These are only few things that the Holiday Season can bring back to individuals, but the list goes on, and everyone should be encouraged to rekindle that lost tradition, or unique family activity.

Of course, we still don’t know what the pandemic will bring in December, but after having gone through a COVID Christmas already, maybe this year we can focus solely on good tidings, even if we’re forced to share them over Zoom.

So, let’s do our best to smile, interact and find something that brings us joy this Holiday Season, whether we are completely back to normal, or not.
