Council voted last Monday to spend up to an estimated $75,000 to repair the Town Hall roof. The new roof will likely be Modified Bituman, which has become standard for many government buildings. The money will come from Redcliff’s Purchasing Reserve fund.

Survey completed for Redcliff Parks and Recreation Master Plan
Surveys were sent out by Redcliff Town staff to local residents to see what should be included in the town’s new Parks and Recreation Master Plan, which will come up for a vote at council later this summer.
The surveys were part of the public consultation aspect for the plan. A total of 85 were returned, according to Redcliff’s Community and Protective Services director Kim Dalton, who is spearheading the initiative.
The next phase of public consultations will take place on June 6 during the regular Recreation Services board meeting starting at 7 p.m.

Summer Programming guide available
Council was informed last Monday that the new Redcliff Summer Programming guide was now available to the public. Copies were mailed out with the last Town newsletter and it can be found online at the Town of Redcliff website, under Quick Links,  “Community Programs and Events.”

Provincial government to consult with municipalities
Provincial ministers will be holding consulations on the “Municipal Government Act” in several communities, including Medicine Hat. Open house starts 9 a.m. on July 14 at the South Side Events Centre.
