Bow Island Coun. Lyle Tuchscherer moved second reading, while Coun. Dave Harrison moved the third reading of the amendments to Bylaw 2018:05, both of which council approved unanimously at its April 23 meeting.
The bylaw will now officially work within the confines of the Municipal Government Act.
Cannabis cultivation, production and packaging facilities will be able to operate under the Class II Discretionary use within the Industrial District M-2 and will have to follow all municipal, provincial and federal regulations.
The first reading was passed on March 26.
Water maintenance tax
Coun. Alan Hyland moved first reading of the water maintenance tax and council approved. The tax is a charge on all property within the Town of Bow Island and help offset the costs for waterline maintenance.
