Hearing to permit new power line for Winnifred set for Oct. 18

A hearing to permit a new power line southwest of Medicine Hat to connect a planned wind farm has been scheduled for Oct. 18
The Winnifred Wind Farm would be connected from its location near the County of Forty Mile boundary, south of Rattlesnake Lake, to the Altalink Bullshead Substation, near the city’s limits.
A newly proposed route would see line “498L” run mainly along Township Road 120, then down a portion of Highway No. 3.
The Alberta Utilities Commission will hold a virtual public hearing on the matter, with initial deadline for intervenor requests of the company, Enerfin Canada, set for Aug. 16, and subsequent deadlines leading up to the Oct. 18 hearing.
