Fatal highway crash near Bow Island

Mounties are investigating a fatal crash on Highway No. 3 just west of Bow Island late on Dec. 15.

The RCMP detachment in the town responded at 11:40 p.m. to a head-on collision between a west-bound pick-up truck and an east-bound tractor trailer near the junction with Highway No. 879, about five kilometres west of Bow Island.

The driver of the pick-up, a 27-year-old man from Taber, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency crews. The RCMP’s collision analyst attended the scene. The investigation is still ongoing, according to authorities.
