Why confuse the issue with a bunch of facts: Regarding the Covid letter to the editor that appeared November 1.
I agree that Fauci said vaccinated people can transmit Covid. Neither he nor Pfizer ever hid this fact. However, most people who get vaccinated enjoy a shorter, less severe, period of illness resulting in less spread.
See sources for this near the end of this opinion. From Statscan (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1107079/covid19-deaths-by-province-territory-canada/), there are 46,025 Covid deaths so far in Canada, with 36,991,991 people, that give us a rate of 0.124%.
A rate quoted in the article is only 0.03%.
“The COVID-19 situation continues to change, sometimes rapidly. Doctors and scientists are working to estimate the mortality rate of COVID-19. At present, it is thought to be substantially higher (possibly 10 times or more) than that of most strains of the flu.”(https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/coronavirus-disease-2019-vs-the-flu).
We will never know how many more would have died had we not vaccinated, but we do know that Covid is a lot worst than the flu. If the claim that Covid was only the flu re-named then why didn’t we just use a flu vaccine?
“Those with three jabs are most likely to be hospitalized” are you nuts!
I will eat mine if you can provide a proper source for this tidbit. I get the impression that the Nov 1 article author is implying vaccines are spreading covid.
“All COVID-19 vaccines currently approved …. are effective against COVID-19, including against severe disease, hospitalization, and death” and “Fully vaccinated persons are less likely than unvaccinated persons to acquire SARS-CoV-2” (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/science-briefs/fully-vaccinated-people.html).
I agree preventative measures such as masks and separation cause huge health issues, however dying sucks more. I do not need to quote any reliable sources here unless we all think the earth is only 6000 years old.
