The Town of Bow Island held their second meeting of the month on May 23, setting their sights on both the immediate future and further down the road.
Councillor Lyle Tuchscherer was appointed to the Physician Residence Ad Hoc Committee. The residence purchased for the doctor that is slated to arrive in the community requires renovations, as the physician in question will be bringing their family to the community and will require some changes in order to fit best in the home.
Policy A-00-17, Donations as a Qualified Donee, was postponed until a later date. The policy is aimed to outline key elements such as eligibility and approval criteria, types of acceptable donations, and other important considerations, in order to streamline some of the bureaucracy involved.
The policy will return at a later meeting.
It was noted by CAO Dave Matz during his report that work on the pool and splash park is progressing well, and he estimates that both will be open in the near future.
Both the Golden Age Club and Yellowhead County submitted correspondence, both received for information.
The former sought to thank the town for the support in the construction of a walking path in Centennial Park and the track at Senator Gershaw School, while the latter sought support in postponing the election.
