The 2027 Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program is officially open for funding applications.
Canada Summer Jobs play a vital role in providing quality work experiences that develop and improve skills while helping young people, ages 15 to 30, earn money for education and living expenses.
Employers from not-for-profit organizations, the public sector and private sector businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees who have been in operation for at least two years can apply for wage subsidy funding to hire students next summer. Full-time job placements will become available starting in April 2027.
The federal government has identified its national priorities as: jobs that provide work experience related to construction; jobs that provide environmental and climate-related work experience; jobs that provide opportunities to develop digital skills or gain exposure to artificial intelligence; jobs that provide work experience with not-for-profit organizations that support underserved and equity-deserving communities.
Glen Motz, Member of Parliament for Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner has identified local priorities for the riding as: support for not-for-profit organizations; small businesses; activities offered at the municipal level; agriculture and skilled trades.
“I encourage not-for-profit organizations and eligible employers across Medicine Hat–Cardston–Warner to apply for CSJ funding. Together, we can empower our young people to build their skills, gain valuable work experience, and take meaningful steps toward a successful future.”
Canada Summer Jobs employer applications are being accepted from now until Dec. 3.
