Forty Mile Park will be holding draws for seasonal camping again this year, similar to the one held last year.
“We feel it worked pretty good last year and we are getting more and more interest all the time,” said Darrell Van Arragon, park manager.
The first draw, held on March 3, will be for people who have had sites in the past. A second draw on March 17 will be for any remaining sites.
There has been significant development taking place at the park, with more seasonal sites being added, making room for more overnight camping.
“We are redoing our seasonal development and are developing an area with 66 sites. Right now, the sites are side by side, with no water, sewer, or power and eventually there will be three loops of seasonal sites,” said Van Arragon. “Work on the sewer for the first seasonal loop started last fall.”
Forty Mile Park currently has 94 seasonal campsites in three areas.
Both draws, March 3 and March 17 will be held at the Bow Island Royal Canadian Legion starting at 7:00 p.m.
