I have spent the last four years trying to understand the ‘great divide” here in Suffield. People come and people go, but the divide remains. I have attended various functions over the years [ we have lived here 27 years] and for the most part, enjoyed the company and the ambiance.
How the divide came about is a mystery to me. Trudy’s letter does nothing to shed light on the subject. It seems that if you have attended a function in the last four years, then obviously you have taken a side and you are to be ignored and maligned.
The current executive’s term in office is now up and the floor is open for nomination. It makes sense to me that if you are not satisfied with the way things are being run, then run for office and make changes from within.
It is wrong and counterproductive to believe that a vitriol-filled letter to the editor or a nasty [anonymous] comment in the ‘ticked off’ column of the Medicine Hat News will make things better.
