No gun law will change a criminal’s heart

Re: June 21 Opinion Pg. 4 (Plenty of misconceptions about Orlando attacker

I don’t often respond to comments made in a newspaper, but this time I must.
We can feel sorry for the dead, but feeling sorry doesn’t help and by what is happening in the world, we will have opportunities to feel sorry every day.
Forty years ago, this crime was almost unheard of; but, things have changed. We used to live by the 10 Commandments. Now they are banned in many places and ignored.
People used to discipline their children and their students. Now guidance and discipline is what we do to cows.
Some years ago, I was walking down the street and here was an approximately four- or five-year-old beating on a smaller and younger little girl with a large stick. She was lying on the pavement, crying and unable to get up.
I grabbed the stick and threatened to hit him with it. He said, “You can’t do that. I’m a Ninja Turtle.”
That kid was being trained by TV to turn into a criminal if no one intervened into his life.
No gun laws will change a criminal’s heart and we’ve chosen to ignore the only one who can, so be prepared to pay the price.
