‘A saving grace’

Posted on April 21, 2021 by 40 Mile Commentator

Last week’s front page story on the Burdett solar array coming on-line, coupled with recent stories on the huge wind projects in the County of Forty Mile is very good news for this county rate payer.
I can’t help but be grateful to the previous ND government for putting in place policies that have resulted in all this investment in our county.
A ” saving grace”  for our county, that will counteract the negative impact on our county by the loss of tax revenue from oil and gas companies that are not paying their county taxes due to UCP policy.
I would suggest to my fellow Forty Mile County rate-payers and residents, that this “saving grace” of tax revenue, jobs and ongoing economic activity from the aforementioned wind and solar projects is not a matter of God’s Grace, although he had a hand in it, this “saving grace” is a matter of good governance and good policy.
Let’s remember this next time Albertans face a provincial election.
