Kevin van Tighem is probably right about southern Alberta’s water security versus the coal industry, but I think his solution is overstated.
He urges electing the NDP to power as the answer to the issue, ignoring the reality that the NDP has its own faults.
All political parties have both good and bad policies. Changing the government over one issue is overkill.
If your editorial staff shares this author’s viewpoint, that’s your right, but is it appropriate to promote a particular party’s election (except as a paid ad) in a community newspaper?
