It’s back to business for Prairie Rose School Division as they named board chair and vice chair during the first official meeting after the October election.
Held Tuesday, Nov. 12, the meeting got off to a good start, with the three new trustees, Cathy Hogg, Christie Dick, and Patti Machell, settling in well as they were officially sworn in.
“Congratulations to all of you,” said Brian Andjelic, PRSD superintendent. “Thank you for your strong interest in Prairie Rose.”
With a joke that he had always wanted to pound the gavel, Andjelic started the meeting off, asking for nominations for board chair.
Bob Wickens, Redcliff trustee, nominated Stuart Angle, Bow Island trustee, and the vote was unanimous.
“It is a privilege and honour,” said Angle. “I hope I can fill the role as eloquently as the predecessor.”
For vice board chair, Graeme Dennis, Seven Persons trustee, nominated Kathy Cooper, Foremost, and once again the decision was unanimous.
“It is an honour to be vice chair,” said Cooper. “Stuart and I will work well together.”
Although no official decisions were made on Nov. 12 in regards to committees and commissions, the board will review the options to be decided upon at a later date.
