A pet dog is deceased after being struck by a car as the owner was walking it through a crosswalk in Bow Island on Oct. 4.
According to a statement released by the Bow Island RCMP, the owner was walking the dog through the crosswalk at Highway Three and Centre Street on Sunday evening when the dog was struck by a silver/grey car, described as being like or similar in model to a Sunfire.
The vehicle did not stop after the collision and RCMP have not yet located the driver of the vehicle.
Anybody with information regarding the individual responsible, or have additional information to contribute, are asked to contact the Bow Island RCMP detachment at 403-545-2784 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-222-8477 (TIPS).
Also, the RCMP remind the public to be cautious when crossing the street as a pedestrian and to be vigilant while driving.
