The Town of Redcliff, in conjunction with Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) will be celebrating another year of handing out the Volunteer of the Year award at a celebration banquet at the end of April.
“It’s so important,” said Carla Spampinato, Redcliff FCSS’s special events coordinator.
“We really appreciate our volunteers and have to recognize them so they know how appreciated they are. We can’t do most programming in Redcliff without our volunteers. The Town of Redcliff relies on the outstanding efforts of volunteers. Volunteers develop new and valuable skills, meet new people, contribute to the community, gain field experience and build positive self-esteem.”
Local citizens are encouraged to get out and nominate for individuals in local organizations who go above and beyond to help their community. Nomination forms can be picked up at Town Hall prior to the deadline of April 3.
Meanwhile, the Redcliff Lions Club has chosen the Citizen of the Year and will announce the candidate in the near future. The 30th annual Redcliff Recognition and Citizen of the Year awards celebration will take place at the German Canadian Harmony Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. on April 28. Tickets can be purchased at Town Hall until April 14.
