Bow Island/Foremost RCMP are investigating the theft of a truck from Bow Island that occurred sometime between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 18.
The RCMP describe the vehicle as a white Chevrolet Silverado and are asking for the public’s assistance in tracking down the culprit(s).
Anybody with information regarding this crime or the persons involved, they are encouraged to contact the Bow Island detachment at 403-545-2784 or Crime stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS (8477).
The RCMP would also remind people to take precautions to mitigate the risk of a similar incident happening to their property.
1. Do not leave valuable items in vulnerable areas (places that are easily accessible or predictable hiding places).
2. Ensure adequate lighting is installed and maintained.
3. Consider installing a surveillance system.
4. Document the Make, model, and serial numbers of your property (very important).
5. Be alert and report suspicious behaviour immediately. (Watch out for each other and call police if you see someone in a place they should not be.)
6. If you are leaving your property unattended, be sure to have a neighbour or friend check on it while you are gone.
