What’s it like being a student-athlete?

Eagle Butte High School student-athletes were asked about their sports of choice and favourite subjects through a canvas survey after an exam break last week.

School Sport (s): volleyball, basketball, softball

Why did you decide to participate in school sports?

I wanted to meet more people and be a part of a team and follow the footsteps of my sister.

What’s your favourite part about playing in the sport you chose?
Coming to practice because being on a team is like having a second family.

Favourite school subject and why?

Math because it provides a challenge which I find helps me with my learning, instead of knowing all of the answers and not learning anything.

School Sport (s): cross country, basketball, badminton, track and field

Why did you decide to participate in school sports?
I like to be athletic.

What’s your favourite part about playing in the sport you chose?

I love to run. It clears my mind. I also like encouraging others to be their best and to improve on their times.

Gym, I like to be athletic and move. I don’t like to sit.

Why did you decide to participate in school sports?

I enjoy being active and am a very competitive person.

I enjoy the team atmosphere and the other people on the team.

Physics because I enjoy the practicality of the math and I like using formulas to solve stuff.
