County approves requisitions for waste services commission

South Forty Waste Services Commission

The commission approved their 2018 budget with a requisitionf from the county established at $101.00 per capita.
The county will contribute $151,601 in 2018, up from $148, 553.50 in 2017. Coun. Joan Hughson moved the motion and council approved at its March 28 meeting.

Policy Review

Coun. Craig Widmer motioned the Code of Ethics/Conduct policy, which was last reviewed on Dec. 9, 2015. Coun. Gerald Reimer put the motion forward for over Expenditure Policy, where last review was done in 2006. Council approved both motions unanimously.
The course fees for office personnel is a resolution and not a policy. A recommendation would be to develop an Employee Enhancement/ Training Policy for all staff. Council voted to have discussions at a future council meeting.

By-Law 4/2018

The Bylaw 4/2018 reclassifies a portion of NW-07-10-12-W4 from Agricultural District to Country Residential District. Council passed Coun. Chantel Timmon’s motion for its first reading and a public hearing on April 11 at 11:30 am.

Forty Mile Foundation

The foundation’s requisition is based on the county’s 2017 equalized assessment. The county’s 2018 contribution will be $62,365.12.
Coun Craig. Widmer moved the motion for approval with council’s support.

Regional Water Project- Pipeline 1C (Orion-Manyberries)

Coun. Stacey Barrows moved to accept the tender by Syn-core Directional Ltd. for the amount of $1,033,343.85 for the Pipeline Contract 1C (Orion-Manyberries.) Council approved.

North Forty Mile Regional Waste Management Services Commission

The regional waste management commission has submitted its requisition in the amount of $104,000 for 2018. The proposed rate set at $50 per capita.
The 2017 requisition was $92,150.
Council approved Coun. Gerald Reimer’s motion to go ahead with the requisition.
