Toys are starting to come in to make a young Bow Islanders Christmas this year, but the Joy of Giving is experiencing a shortage in non-perishable items and cash donations to help those families in need this holiday season.
Local hockey and school teams have held teddy bear tosses to help the toy hamper.
Cash donations will go toward buying groceries to add to the hampers
The Bow Island and Forty Mile communities will have until Dec. 20. to donate.
The family names deadline has past and there 25 families and 40 kids that a hamper will be delivered to.
Donations can be dropped off at the Bow Island Health Centre, post office, library, Apple Drugs and ATB Financial.
