Prairie Rose School Division’s (PRSD) deputy superintendent Kal Koch gave a jurisdiction report to the board of trustees on Jan. 8, saying that PRSD’s class sizes are line up with the instructional dollars.
The report broke down the average class sizes for 2018-2019 being 16.6 for Kindergarten to Grade 3, 18.9 for Grades 4-6, 18.2 for Grade 7- 9 and 19 students for high school level, which are all similar numbers to the past two years.
“We have a very positive report in all areas,” said Koch.
“I think that this is something that should be applauded and the fact that we’re using our instructional dollars for our children.”
Additional areas that were evaluated included core and non-core classes. This report is mandatory every year from Alberta Education.
